Objective - The objective of this project was to create a 4 page magazine spread for a music publication. The article I chose was the 2023 Grammy nominations.
Process - I used a cutout collage style inspired by zines from the 1990s (the peak of music journalism), as well as some of my favourite modern music publications. I treated the photos with a grainy texture to resemble retro film grain and used funky typefaces for the subheadings to reflect the hip nature of the magazine. I used enticing pull quotes with bold buzzwords to draw the reader in, and used a clean sans serif typeface for the body copy to make for easy legibility.
Medium/Tools used - Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign.
